I was reminiscing about shitty jobs I had, and this is one core negative memory I won't forget.
It was my first day at a popular pizza chain as a delivery driver, and I had a longtime employee showing me the ropes. Well a couple hours in, I ask how often the higher ups consider giving employees raises. The longtime employee just looked at me and laughed, saying that “no one ever gets raises here”.
I was really put off by this and quit a few weeks later. I guess I had my hopes up because my previous job was pretty generous with giving raises reguarly.
