[Meta] We received news of the Supreme Court’s decision to block student loans from almost every other news sub today and nearly 18k of you upvoted a report of them throwing out an older case. From a repost. The exact opposite of what was happening.

I don't know what to say… Do better. Be better. It should be clear to everyone today that it's a brazen attempt to divert the narrative the minute the ruling class of conservative white Americans put their boots on our necks and when we cried for mercy they sneered, “No.”

And some guy decided to randomly repost old news about the case being dismissed from a previous attempt to stop it? I don't think that's a coincidence. Or bad timing.

I don't think they want us to know, or to remember, or to do anything about as we grumble. But this sub scares some people enough to try and gaslight us into thinking what has just happened didn't just happen.

This block of this student loan forgiveness is a direct and unabashed attack on workers, on the poor, and on younger Americans. We should be FURIOUS.

This should be a call to action to raise hell to call your rep, to write letters, to organize and protest. to tell them, FUCK NO! WE WILL NOT PAY YOUR BILLS TO BAIL OUT YOUR FRIENDS AND THEN GETTING TOLD “NO FREE HANDOUTS.”
