Throaway account. I have a quick question. I am currently on sick leave due to burnout, anxiety and depression caused by my micromanager and her manager. I received an email from her commenting my out of office response (I saw it because I get notifications on my phone). She wants me to change it to a template created by her manager. I have all the relevant information in the automatic response (who to contact in my absence, etc.). I'm a bit confused why does she think she can control how I format emails. I have extensive work experience, and I know how to write f* emails. Both of them control basically everything. I'm having nightmares about my job regularly. First of all, I'm on sick leave. Secondly, I'm not going to change it as per her stupid template.
Is it normal that a manager dictates how to write my out of office template?
And yes, in the meantime, I'm looking for another job. If I don't leave this place, it's going to kill me.
