I'm an expert in my field at the leading company in our industry. Upper management never lets us forget how great the company is doing.
But,
Every raise is just a “cost of living” adjustment that doesn't cover inflation, and promotions barely get you anything more.
They say “we carefully track the industry standard”.
WTF, how can you say we are the best, and then expect us to accept median wages? You really think reminding us how much you are screwing us is a good thing for moral?
The only reason I stay is because all the other companies have worse benefits, and also pay the “industry standard”.
