Moving to a 32 hour work week?

I’be been a web developer for about three years now, and I’ve always said the biggest benefit of my company is the flexibility of hours / switching projects / etc. As long as you’re making meetings, you can work literally whenever you want. Additionally, they allow any employee to work 32 hours/week (with approval) with no change in benefits; however you obviously you don’t get paid for those 8 hours. And once I made the change I don’t think I can ever go back. I love having a day of my life back each week, and I use the time to take Wednesdays off and work on my own projects. I’m not sure if I want to stay at this company forever though, as I know I could get paid better elsewhere. So I’m curious if anybody else works >40 hours/week, how that’s effected your life, or how common it…
