Keeping details vague for my own protection.
Now I know the title makes it seem like she was the enemy. But she was actually pretty cool. Treated us like human beings, let us supervise our selves, and honestly best fucking boss I ever worked with. The only issue is that she's really pro-capitalism and anti-union. I wouldn't say she's belligerent about it but at least once a year I would have to sit through a ten minute lecture about how unions make workers lazy.
She was also president of the company. She sold majority shares to another company and after a year they fired her and bought her out. She really did not want that. She fought it tooth and nail and her last resort was to come to us in the office and ask us to walk out with her.
Maybe if I had the protection of a union I would have considered it but I don't. I can't afford to just walk out.
I don't think it'll ever dawn on her how close she came to being pro-union and if I didn't actually like her as a person I would have thrown it in her face the moment she asked.
