I work in an administrative role and often get food delivered to the office for lunch or ingredient delivered to make myself sandwiches for the week. A couple of people do the same. I always collect the food from the delivery guy myself and outside the office entrance. On occasion I get caught up with work and they drop the food off in reception. Today a rule was passed that noone is allowed to have food delivered to the office as it is a 'security risk'. This is a bit of a problem for me because I still live at home (I'm 21) with an abusive mother who doesn't let me take food from home for work or buy my own food to keep at home and then take to work. There are also no shops or restaurants in walking distance from my office. Therefore the only way for me to have lunch is to order it at work. I addressed this with my boss, who said that if they make an exception for me, then they have to allow it for everyone. My personal issues are not their problem and I'venever made them their problem because for the four years I've worked there I'vebeen able to order my food. But now it's a problem. So here I sit at my desk, unable to order any lunch, hands shaking as my blood sugar drops rapidly.
