My boss wouldn’t give me a 4 dollar raise, despite being a top performer

EDIT: FOLLOW UP POSTED I told my current employer back in January that I wanted to make 25/hr (it’s a fully remote job, which is why I dealt with the low pay) and that would make me happy and keep me with the company. EDIT: FOLLOW UP POSTED

I told my current employer back in January that I wanted to make 25/hr (it’s a fully remote job, which is why I dealt with the low pay) and that would make me happy and keep me with the company. Their exact words were, “you are a top performer, however, you’re at the top of the pay scale so the best you can do is hope inflation continues to rise so we can adjust the pay scales again to get you 50 cents to a dollar more”.

Well, guess who just gave themselves a 94% raise by finding a new job!!! I took the day off today from my current job to go buy office clothes and I’m putting in my two weeks tomorrow!!

Edit: I will be giving a two week notice so please don’t suggest otherwise. My career is just getting started and I want to be able to utilize them in the future (I had two job offers both for 90k+ and both places contacted all of my references, so it’s important for me to leave on good terms). Also, I work remotely so it’s not like I’m going to be working hard these next two weeks lol Other than my manager’s comments and the abysmal pay, they’ve been good to me and very flexible.
