My company founder said the stupidest thing

So I'm gonna start by saying, I actually really love my job. People are great, and my boss is awesome. I work at a place called Lovesac, it's a furniture shop that specializes in sectionals and beanbags. Said boss is this stores manager. She had a gathering of sorts to go to, where they were having all managers from most locations. Idk what this thing was actually called, but it's to update us on policies, new upcoming products, ways to improve sales, etc. The founder made an appearance and gave a lecture. He told everyone there that if someone is right there ready to buy were supposed to say something along the lines of, “you made a great choice. I wish I could afford a couch like this.” Seriously? You want us to advertise that your product are overpriced? (They're pricy but not super overpriced, it's a good product) Not…

Not to mention it sounds like you're underpay employees almost on purpose. I may not make much but I wouldn't say I'm underpaid.

Not to mention, that's not what a customer wants to hear. Can you imagine going into a restaurant, asking about a particular menu item, and the waiter says, I don't know, I can't afford to eat here. This is all sorts of levels of WTF. Really shows how out of touch CEOs are not only with employees, but customers as well.
