My company “reward” system…

I need to vent about this somewhere. A good number of years ago my company implemented a reward system. Basically if you do something exceptional, people can send you points. Supervisors can create points out of nothing, anybody else has to send their own. After literal years of being among the most productive people on my team and doing what I consider several exceptional things – including bringing to light a massive security issue – they announced the closure of this program. I have never redeemed my points so I checked out what I can get. The sum of my rewards for years is apparently worth a 25 CAD gift card… to Tim Hortons. Since I don't want Tim Hortons I spent as much as I could on an HDMI cable. Just one mind you, two cables cost more points than I had. Thank you, my employer.
