Premise: Commercial real estate holdings and long-term leases are partially holding back massive AI adoption.
They want you back to the office to boost the value of all their commercial real estate holdings and/or long-termcommercialleases. Once they get out of their leases or can unload their properties at a profit, they will dump as many people as they can replace with AI. If they didn't have leases or buildings they can't sell, they would have replaced even more people by now.
If there is a critical mass of commercial property investment write-offs, expect a massive flood of AI adoption to follow – far more than is happening now.
I have no evidence for this, but I'd be interested in hearing other thoughts.
