I work at a hotel. A coworker of mine was recently terminated because of their attitude with coworkers/management/customers and an increasing trend of aggressive behavior – mostly yelling/shouting/being excessively vulgar in the workplace. HR removed them before things escalated.
I overheard another coworker, who still works here and is friends with the ex-employee, reading off our schedule sheet. I heard them reading off my schedule and others' over the phone and discussing other things with the ex-employee (e.g., what's happened since they were fired, what management has been doing, etc.). I know this other coworker doesn't particularly like me, especially since I was one of the people who reported the ex-coworker.
Given the circumstances, and considering that the ex-employee was terminated because of complaints made by me and others, I'm concerned that they might do something if they have my schedule.
What are my options here? I don't think a restraining order makes any sense. Our building doesn't have any on-site security, and when I brought my concerns up to my boss and asked about protocol if the ex-employee did show up, I was told that they'd just contact the police.
Any suggestions are welcome… Thank you in advance!
