My employer had me interview someone new as my equal at a 2 person location. They hired him at a higher payscale.

Does anyone have experience with this situation. I have 3 years with the company, other guys at different locations have more time than me. Management decided a brand new guy is worth more money on day 1. Open to all suggestions, realistic or not haha.
