My future former boss wants me to return to work at the beginning of my new one

My future former company is in the process of having a quality certification. And to due that, they have to be audited. I quit 2 months ago (It's 3 months notice in France for managers), but despite that they couldn't find anyone to replace me. They decided to give the trainee my job temporarly, but they feared he wouldn't be able to do the audit. That audit will in June, a week after my new job begins. And my current director is trying to pressure me into coming back for that day. “You can take un unpaid day off, I'll pay you the day ! I'll even pay the plane ticket !” (It's 1500km – 930 miles – away from my new job).
