My Gf is being overworked and underpaid. any advice?

My(23) gf (21) got a job as a pharmacy tech for a big supermarket chain. When she applied for part time, she gave them her availability (max 32 hours a week, she plans to take more college classes, does not drive yet, and also is heavily involved in our cities theater community) Lately they have been scheduling her towards the end of 1 work week, and the beginning of the next, making her work 7-8 days in a row. Thats 56-64 hours in one weeks time. They are doing this to avoid paying her overtime. They say they are understaffed (big suprise) but no one else is working 8 days in a row. Everyone else that is staffed is only working 5 days in a row. The manager makes these schedules 1 month in advance, and they are never exactly the same. My gf has had to put a hold…

My gf has had to put a hold on signing up for more classes because of how much they are working her. She was suppose to be part time. She has already made her availability crystal clear that she is only suppose to be scheduled 32 hours a week max. When she brings it up to the manager they just ignore her. Is there any legal action we can take against this? What should we do?
