My husband might get fired because his supervisor tried to fight him

So we live in Louisiana and he works in a warehouse working forklift. Today, there was a pallet the supervisor left in the way and when my husband was explaining to him what/where it was, he got aggravated and took off his glasses and started yelling and bowing up to my husband. He gets off the forklift because he thinks his supervisor is going to fight him and when he spoke to his boss about the incident he said he could get fired as well for getting off the forklift? How could they do that if he was just simply trying to defend himself? The workplace has cameras and an HR but what would be the best steps in dealing with this?
