Title says it all. I'm so exhausted.
I'm an assistant manager at a local carwash chain. Every year, we run a fundraiser program for the local children's hospital, which has historically always done very well in raising money for those unfortunate kiddos and the amazing people that help them.
My boss sent me a screenshot of a message from our Vice-CEO, literally threatening to remove our bonuses if we don't start promoting this new rewards program for a big name corp business partner. that's nearly 20% of our income at stake!! for me, that's my food budget!!! i'll fucking starve if i don't bonus out every week. it doesn't help i'm being paid barely three dollars above minimum wage.
i just feel sick. there was no communication, no indication that we were supposed to switch from pushing the donation to the rewards program. straight to threatening our income and livelihoods. selfish, greedy bastards that i work for.
i love every other part of the job. i love my employees, coworkers and customers. i love helping people. sometimes i retches get excited to come to work. this greedy fucking corpo prick just killed ALL of my joy.
time to update my resume! hopefully this time i get a job with a livable wage. weekends off and a consistent schedule would be great.
