I’m available 21-24hrs per week, my job has been scheduling me 19 hours/week which means I’m one hour short for qualifying for any benefits including vacation/sick days.
I’ve been requesting some days that I’ll need off for doctors appointments for my baby, holidays and my birthday. I noticed that all my request got denied, I asked HR and they told me that since I don’t average a minimum of 20 hours per week I cannot request days off because it would be an unexcused absence (due to me not having PTO at all). I might just be dumb but that doesn’t sound right, specially since they’re scheduling me this way on purpose.
