My job won’t let me have two days off in a row

Last month my bosses changed my schedule so I'd no longer have two days off in a row until we find a replacement. The problem is finding a replacement has been nearly impossible, every potential person we interview is either a bad fit or falls through. I brought this up to my manager and he said he'll bring it up with the next meeting with the owners. Other than that, theres nothing he can do. I'm intimidated to go to the owners saying I need my weekends back but it's the only way I can get my weekend back. Getting two days off in a row shouldn't be something I have to be begging weeks for. The fact I'm working for a company that is making me go through this has been beyond irritating. Crafting an email writing now asking with the owner to let me have have me normal weekend back.
