My job’s RTO policy is being applied unequally to my department.

Management announced my entire department will be returning to office 2 days a week. Almost everyone is currently fully remote. However, they don’t want to apply this to me, who was hired as hybrid. The fully remote teammates were almost all hired pre pandemic at 5 days in office. They’re forcing me to continue my current 3 days in office instead of 2 like the rest of the department. They have provided 0 actual evidence about why this is necessary. Not only are they screwing over folks whose work life balance depended on them being home all the time, they’re sticking it to me too. Idk how else to defend myself. I refuse to comply with an unequal department policy. PS my boss said “it’s 2 days for the department but some will do more, some will do less.” Wonder who gets to do less? 🤔
