my manager wants our staff party to be a potluck

I work at a smallish brewery in Greater Vancouver in an area pretty well known for its multiple breweries. The business is not doing super well due to market trends (less people drinking beer, higher prices, all the usual) but also due to a series of really stupid decisions on the owner’s part (too many to list and don’t necessarily want to give too many identifying features of the biz for obvious reasons).
