I always see the advice “do what you love,” but literally every job suffers from the same 2 basic problems:
1) I don’t have autonomy over my time. Someone else commands my daily schedule. I’m beholden to the whims of my employer, because I need money to survive.
2) Work can never be enjoyable when there’s the ever-looming threat of my livelihood being taken away. Employers have way too much power, and they know it and abuse it.
I just don’t see how any work can be enjoyable unless you already have enough passive income/saved money to cover all of your living expenses.
