My PTO was in the negative when I was fired. Owe $600 to former employer, not gonna pay it.

I was taking some extended time off for personal reasons. The plan was to let my PTO hours accrue back to positive, got dismissed beforeI could do so and now they’re asking for $600. I cannot and will not pay.
