This isnt super long or exciting but this is memorable for me
I was hired for a customer service position at a bank through a contracting company. Its farther away than I would have preferred, the first day was at an ungodly hour compared to the normal start time, and I honestly did not want the job, but I was pushing myself to give it a shot.
So I get to the bank for orientation. They take a handful of us down an elevator into this dark, cold, cement room to fill out paper work. The computers in the room are ancient and they keep emphasizing how we're not allowed to wear jeans… For an over the phone position.
They hand out peanut butter bars as snacks which I and a few others cant eat. Thankfully im just intolerant cause some people explode at a whiff of peanuts.
And as Im writing out my social on the tax forms, something just snaps in me. I tell them I dont want to be here and I walk out.
Then I walk back in cause I cant figure out how to leave.
Then I walk out again.
I got black listed by the contracting agency for a few months but it was definitely the right call.
