I can’t even put into words how LIVID I am. And I know I’m not alone. We ended busy season maybe two weeks ago and now they’re saying that we will be close Thanksgiving and Christmas weeks and will get 2 paid days for each week so if we want full checks we need to use 48 hours of our own PTO to cover it. I don’t even have any vacation left because I took one small trip this year and also had a cancer scare and had to have days off for testing and then surgery and I got infected after and had to take the rest of my PTO basically….
They already underpay for the industry but there’s not a ton of jobs up here. Three people quit this year and they didn’t backfill ANY of the jobs. They can afford to keep the store open. and the fact that they want to tell us now, 8th month of the year that we need to use 50%+ of our yearly PTO or go without pay during the holidays? I know people will quit over this and we won’t see a penny. Insult to injury too that they want to fucking pretend that this is encouraging work life balance. Like FUCK YOU. I am so fucking mad. I will need to save every extra dollar I have to fucking pay rent during the holidays now.
By the way the company as a whole has over 4k employees and revenue upwards of $3B.
