I am a 17 year old guy residing in India with next to no knowledge about office rules. My friend who's 18 has recently started looking for part time job and found one from contacts of his mom. It was a tally job, which was 5 hours a day. Due to some changes in his schedule of university he is now unable to work and it had suddenly become alot more hectic for him. He decided to quit the job and the employer agreed. Now he started working 1 September and worked till 9 September and left the job on monday (11 September). He took one leave on 5 September and worked on every day else than that and he was very quick and efficient with his work as it's something he has done for a while before. Now the employer didn't offer to pay upfront at the time he left and when he asked for the payment she said he will only be paid for 7 days, as the day he took a leave and a Sunday in between (3 September) will not be counted as working days. Also he's being paid by the formula (Total salary/31 (days) × no. Of days worked). He merely asked for a clarification and the employer said that he was rude and that they are upset with him for asking straight up like that for money. My friend is not expecting anything and ready to take whatever, we are going to meet the employer in person tomorrow and I am coming with him because he's lowkey scared and nervous. I just wanted to know is this how it's supposed to be?
