I think this should be appropriate here? I need help. Trying not to dox myself. Just moved west coast with my new spouse who is on deployment, and my kid just started school. I know almost nobody in this area. I spent the last few years as a SAHM, but have been pulling small paychecks for art royalties (I draw, and my art is sold as original /reproductions online by a company) in the meantime.
I used to be a paid consultant for causes pertaining to homelessness pre Covid, for a number of organizations but this was a few years ago now and I don’t know if I want to get back into that field, it was very emotionally taxing.
I did retail and CS working at fast food and clothing stores, coffee shops, grocery stores, thrift etc in my early 20s and likely just trying to find something simple like that. But any experience I have with jobs of that nature was 10 ish years ago.
Any recommendations or advice at all? Am I totally overthinking this? It’s been so long since I’ve worked a regular hourly wage that isn’t a “consultant /contractor” gig but I really do need to get back into work, I just feel so strangely under qualified.
