I found out today that a new employee started out ar a higher wage than I currently make. For context I have been here for almost a year and have been promoted to a lead role. They started 3 months ago and are at the base role. I was given a raise right about when they started for the promotion and still make less than them. This is a fairly entry level heathcare job so experience and other factors shouldnt play too much of a role.
Im not sure how to address this with management without throwing them under the bus? Or how to go about handling this at all. It's absolutely unfair to me and I'm sure other coworkers are in the same boat. We have been very short staffed since I started and I'm sure they started offering more to start bc of this instead of helping out what employees they do have.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated
