My company moved to total remote during the pandemic. They had record profits for the past two years.
I was hired as a remote employee, on a team that had always been a remote. (There is no office near me.)
Our CEO just announced our 'hybrid' workers will have a requirement to be in the office a few days a week. (There was no requirement before.) This isn't going to affect me, since I'm not a 'hybrid' employee, but I do worry if this is a trend and will change remote employees status on the future.
He even said: “If you want to work for a completely remote company, maybe this company isn't for you.” at an all hands company. Rather making it obvious the reason for doing this is they want to downsize, but don't want to lay anyone off.
Needless to say I'm disappointed.
