New job isn’t paying for overtime hours.

I recently started working this job with a media company that operates throughout the USA. I ended up about 30 minutes overtime on my first day. The next day I asked about their overtime policy and apparently the company “isn’t approving overtime” and the policy is that we keep track of any time we have over and we get a paid day off when we hit 8 OT hours. If we log our overtime hours into our employee portal they won’t get approved/will be sent back so we literally cannot get paid for them. I literally worked a 12 hour day last week. I’ve filed a complaint with my state’s labor board but I don’t know if it’ll go anywhere since there’s not a paper trail of the overtime policy. Is there anything else I can do?
