basically the title.
i work at a retirement home where we have a hotel-like system indoors, and on-site cottages where residents can live. we do food deliveries for both, and i deliver for the cottages. i'm a server, for context, and serve about 75% of the entire population at this home. i love all the residents at this home, but the manager is insufferable.
tonight, he was informed when he got the delivery list that one resident in the cottages had covid, and to leave the food on the doorstep after knocking. he apparently didn't write this down or even remember, because an hour after i finished deliveries i was informed of this by the concierge at the front desk (who is amazing btw but always busy). i had handed the food to this lady directly. and served more people once i got back.
two people in my house have asthma. my grandparents are visiting me aswell, and theyre elderly. a lot of the older residents who come to the dining room for dinner are a bit feeble, and so are some of the other cottage delivery recipients. hell, one of them is stuck on a portable respirator for oxygen. and this asshole didn't inform me?
for context, i've had covid twice (delta and omni), and got covid right before i was supposed to get my first shot, so i never got it (especially since i wasnt working and was (and am still) fully homeschooled at the time)
i plan on talking to the retirement home manager on monday about this when she gets back from vacation, aswell as other issues with the new manager. such issues include him not letting us, a bunch of teenagers, go home until everything's done (which can be up to half an hour after our shift ends, while we're only paid for our scheduled hours), bending to the most pickiest resident's stupid requests, and being vaguely sexist (he doesn't believe i can roll silverware faster than my male coworker who has worked half as long as i have).
this dude makes me so upset, im making plans to quit after this.
