This is a small environmental NGO, so might not be of concern to many of you. But basically when I joined my contract just said that I could take upto 2 days of work-from-home every week (6 working days, btw). That was it.
Then it became that we can't take WFH on the same day as another co-worker (there are 4 staff members in the office where I work). Then a new rule got added that we can't take WFH on Saturday because that's the day all the meetings will apparently happen. Finally, today I got to know of a new rule that we can't take WFH on consecutive days. For some reason. This kind of exploitation is pretty common in a lot of NGOs.
Meanwhile my brother works for a bigger NGO, just five days a week for 30% more pay and less crazy workload.
