I swear some days someone can come into one of our stores, shoot every employee dead, and then cry to corporate when there’s no one to ring him up and corporate would kiss his feet and give him a gold platter.
And Im the manager. We don’t work in a good area. Someone was literally stalking one of my employees and my dm literally said “well he didn’t do anything illegal” and refused to let me ban him.
Just today I had a very angry customer who started making aggressive comments about me being trans. I was shaking with fear but he left. I wrote a report to corporate and then in the manager group chat I found out he went to another store and was asking for MY PERSONAL CONTACT info. And then corporate called ME OUT for banning him.
Security: well he went to another store and didn’t cause problems there.
Me: yes he was. He was asking for my personal contact info. How are you going to prevent him from asking other stores until someone does it or if he is able to find out my address?
Security: …. We won’t let it come to that.
Keep in mind we are small stores. Like gas station sized and 5-10 employees depending on the size. The manager group chat is just all the managers in the district. So security is some dude watching cameras at the headquarters all day.
What a joke. I’m finding a new job before someone kills me on the clock.
