I lost my decent paying corpo job back in November. Benefits, sick days ect. Gone.
I’ve been working a crappy cafe job in the meantime to help get by.
Getting sick has turned from something I can just take some time off and deal with to an entire ordeal.
Boss calls and yells at me for needing to leave early and not getting my shift covered. I’m one of 2 employees. Every day I’ve had to find coverage and explain in detail why I can’t come in. Why I can’t just go to the dr. ( cuz I don’t have insurance and you pay me very little) all while I should be resting and getting better and missing out on pay.
TLDR: I had forgotten how much harder it is on you if you get sick without sick days.
