None of this is new, employers always take advantage of workers

Back in 2003 I worked for a warranty company that sold policies through Circuit City, yes that one that is no longer around, yes I’m old. I was only there for a few months, went through a 3 week training program, exited as one of the top people coming out. I was awarded Blackhawks tickets for superior work. We would stay after our shift if we were on a call. I lived 45 minutes away and if you know Chicago the travel times can vary greatly. I was reprimanded because I would show up 3 mins late, not to mention we would sometimes stay 15-30 minutes AFTER our shift. The end result is they lost an excellent agent and have to spend money to hire and train someone new all because of being a couple minutes late.
