So I’ve been with this company for about 4 almost 5 months, and since the beginning I was being pushed to be their back up CDL driver, I didn’t mind I was a truck driver for 3 years but got engaged so wanted to be off the road and home. Well it’s been a nightmare just trying to get them to get me onto the truck, and I started learning other jobs and filling in all over the place for specialized jobs whenever they needed me to fill in with ample amount of call offs at this place they always needed me somewhere. Well I noticed I wasn’t getting the pay that these jobs included and I finally had enough and talked to my head supervisor about and he was confused since he was under the impression that I would be getting paid for them. About a week later he came back and told me HR told him that they don’t give pay bumps for daily coverings only if I’m officially put on as that position, I said okay well then I will only being doing the jobs that I am paid for and that was the end of it.
Well now here I am finally moved to the truck and filling in and I told them I’d only do it if I could the pay for it, the dock supervisor, different than my main supervisor told me no worries I’ll get paid for it, I said okay then I have no problem doing it. Well he came up to me today and told me that all the over time I worked last week won’t be in the truck pay scale but my normal working the line pay scale which is almost $10 less per hour, and to make up for it he’s giving me points that we can trade in online to redeem gift cards and other things. So now I feel like I’m gonna be the bad guy for telling them to stop asking me to do things since they won’t pay me for it.
