So I work as a Human Resource Assistant. I have been at my facility for a year and when a higher up position opened up I eagerly applied as my education background is Human Resources and I figured that would make up for the lack of “real world experience” in fact the minimum qualifications even stated education could be in place of experience. I make it through both rounds of interviews but ultimately my Chief Human Resource Officer decided someone with a bit more practical experience was needed. Fair enough, no hard feelings. Well the job ends up getting cancelled because no interviewees were a good enough fit. Again, no big deal these things happen… flashforward a few weeks and the same position is reposted with a slightly different tittle. instead of a specialist it is now an admin/specialist. and instead of encouraging a current and again fully qualified employee to re-apply… a candidate with NO human resource experience is hired… like what sense does that make….
