I worked for this company for nearly 7 years. I was doing security at this property for nearly 6.5 of those nearly 7 years before I was able to laterally transfer to a different department.
Oh boy I felt appreciated for the first time ever. Then it was explained that I was just there to do bitchwork, despite training me for the position, and that in all their 'corporate wisdom' it wasn't in the budget to keep me past the end of my contracted position. So after nearly 7 years of my life I came in on my last day turned in all my stuff, had a half-hearted handshaked from my boss who wouldn't look me in the eye, completely glossed over me asking to come back if any FT positions open up and invited me to do more contract work (bitch work) next summer and I was out the door in under 5 minutes.
I went out like a fart in the wind for a company that never gave a fuck about me the entire time I was with them.
