So I'm currently between jobs right now, doing side-gig work to make ends-meet. I'm treading water atm, so I'm only sending out applications to things that interest me, and not to things that don't.
So, I get reached out to by a recruiter from indeed earlier this week and asked to schedule an interview. I wasn't super interested to be working at this specific workplace but I figured I might as well go through the interview in order to see what's what. Note that the recruiter is not an employee of this
I scheduled our phone interview today as my third interview of the day, and I happened to receive offers that are in-line with my expectations from the 2 interviews before.
They calls 10 minutes past our scheduled time – buggered, but fine.
The recruiter is cheery and peachy and the conversation goes alright, they're incredibly interested in my experience and how I've worked my way up in various industries, only to jump to another one after I get bored or pissed off.
They were made aware I was fielding offers from a couple other companies – they knew I was actively interviewing and had offers in-hand.
And yet they then tell me that this wasn't an interview, that I still had another round to do with the DM if the recruiter gives the all-clear. This is while they can't answer questions about LOCATION, expectations, duties, or responsibilities.
So I spent 35 minutes over the phone with this person answering questions only for them to ask me to complete another half-hour personality quiz.
I told them I struggled to see how this would be relevant to the job and asked them to let their employer know that I was no longer interested, and it was the sole reason.
Too bad it won't make a lick of difference in their hiring procedures 🤷
