I work for a small non profit. I worked 8 days in a row beginning of September. My ED approved the OT. She knew I worked the weekend plus the rest of the week work. The operations manager kicked back my time card saying I can’t work more than 40 days in a row. Told her I was approved for OT. She figured it out with the ED. Long story short, we didn’t have enough cash flow to cover my OT so my ED asked me to turn in a time card with just my regular 80 hours and then the next day, turn in a corrected time sheet with my OT included and I’ll be compensated in a few weeks. Well I finally heard back TODAY that they will document my OT on a supplemental time card and a separate check will be issued for OT only. She sent me a new time card only reflecting my OT hours. With her signature. Which was correct. I asked if I would be compensated for working more than 6 days straight. I did 8 days straight. Mind you, I already sent her TWO time cards that reflect me working those 8 days straight. She responded that she thought I was going to Flex Time beyond the OT?!? And asked if I was approved for the OT. I work in CA and legally, if you work more than 6 days in a row, you get compensated time and half. She said she had to speak with the ED for approval. I am so mad. You already approved a time card that reflects OT which in turn means you acknowledge I worked those days plus the days onward equaling 8 days in a row?!?! Am I in the wrong here?
