Nothing like doing everything you can in your profession to stay relevant, only to be told that it isn’t cost effective to retain U.S. based folks.

I work for a pretty large software consulting firm. Like many many others this company is feeling the pinch when it comes to operating costs and influx of work. They have already reduced workforce twice, and are currently looking to reallocate folks. Today in a meeting they pretty much said that it wasn't cost effective to maintain us based folks. I.E. it's cheaper to find someone overseas to do my job instead of me. I have 20 years in the industry, and have stayed relevant. I hold numerous compTia certs. I have a Cisco CCNA and a cisco CCENT. But it's cheaper to hire someone out of India, even if they have the same experience. It's such a shitty feeling.
