I work in an office for a company that presents itself as a serious and professional company.
The work culture is far from and it has its pros and cons.
The owner is known for “ball busting”. I had to work from home as my car was being repaired. The owner asked me where i was and i jokingly said “hiding”. Froze up and din’t know what to say.
He “good cause you were almost unemployed”
I think he was trying to be nice by telling me he made food and i could help myself to it. He said “i know how much you like free food”.
Do i have a right to feel unvalued, disrespected, a but humiliated? Or should i have thicker skin?
This was said on the floor the whole office heard this.
His son is a good friend of mine. One time i was talking to his son and in the background the owner goes “we are at a party no hispanics allowed” i’m hispanic.
I’m. Pretty confused and down right now.
