My old employer hates unemployment so much they see lying or breaking any employment laws to prevent it. When I first filled they claimed I had returned to work to block it and had to prove I hadn't. After 7 weeks waiting I'm confident because they'll find the facts and I'll get approved. Nope the only person who was present who could possibly have knowledge of what happened, literally in the early stages of dementia. But found whatever he told them credible enough to make a decision without hearing my side and willing to ignore the fact they posted an opening for my position the day before the incident. If it was approved it would of been just in time I get evicted on 2 days had 3 interviews lined up. And stay at hotel for time being. But instead I have to decide if make the last 2 days my 15 y/o who ive had since he was 8 weeks. Who's health is going downhill. His last 2 days to make sure he doesn't have to spend his last days cold and wet outside, which will accelerate his health decline. I'd rather his last moments be comfy with every blanket I own and his favorite forbidden toy (roll of paper towels) all because the company loves the right of at will employment they get, but will not tolerate any right that helps the employee. They always bragged about not firing any one in 10 years because they could push anyone out and prevent any UC claims. They're playing a dangerous game leaving me with nothing to lose.
