I used to work at this factory where new employees were on a tiered wage system and anyone that got promoted became salaried before I choose to left I was spending a lot of time trying to figure out what the compensation was for different promotable positions because I wanted to figure out which roles would be best to work towards for my future and everyone would tell me they would get fired if they discussed wages. I ended up leaving that place for a different factory job that was much better. Has anyone else ever struggled to figure out what the pay was for internal positions before? How do you know if moving up is going to be worth it if you don't know what you will be paid?
