This post is a little different from most in this sub since I generally like my job. Reasonably flexible, most coworkers are cool, great management…except for one guy. We have multiple managers in my store, some higher up in the hierarchy than others. But there is one of them who is particularly obnoxious.
He constantly goes against company policy to do things his way, is subtly rude and opinionated, complains about how little he gets paid (was formerly a store manager for a different chain but now works a lower position), and everyone in the store including the other managers know he’s a problem. BUT, nothing he’s done so far is deemed “fireable”. The company has a pretty relaxed firing policy and basically won’t let anyone go unless it’s blatantly illegal or not showing up. He is also a crazy hard worker, and always works overtime unless he gets sick from working too much. So he’s annoying and nobody likes working with him, but he does provide a lot of value to the company.
I’m not sure if I’m looking for advice or just venting, but how would you all cope?
