It’s incredibly dumb. Who on earth would rate themselves low? I can assure you that no one in the history of no one.
Secondly, you’re damned if you do and damned if you don’t. Rate yourself highest and you’re conceited and lack self-awareness. Rate yourself a bit lower than perfect and now they have a reason to pay you less. You agree with them you’re less than stellar, so 3% raise should be plenty for you.
Thirdly, “demonstrate how you met the corporate values” makes me physically ill. Can we stop pretending that those values mean anything? It’s all buzz words. Do they think people have a heartfelt story ready about how they showed integrity?
It’s all mind games and corporate bulls*it. It’s so fake. It’s giving kinder garden.
