Just gotta vent rq.
A while ago my boss called my team into a meeting to discuss the fact that we will not be getting any raises until further notice. They are supposedly coming, but are on hold indefinitely. The reason being that the CEO wants “more free cash flow.” This applies to every salaried employee, including management.
Even without promotions, we are usually given a cost of living raise every year. In a rapidly growing city, that COL raise is VERY MUCH needed. There are members of my team who got promoted, and are therefore expected to perform more, with no extra pay to reflect that.
Now, this CEO is very fucking stupid. You may have heard of him. Think of the number 44, for no particular reason. He may have “more free cash flow” if the dumb motherfucker, oh, I don’t know, stopped being a public fucking nazi? Or stopped wasting vast amounts of money on bullshit?? Or shut up for literally five fucking minutes??? I’m pissed. We’re pissed.
And to make matters better, leaving this job is not an option for me right now. I just have to deal with it. I hate this and I hate the absolute buffoon I have to work for. We just want our fucking money, bro. Fuck.
