Out with covid and boss seems concerned about my absence, but not my health.

I’m a 51 year old construction estimator and my boss is one of the owners 29yo son. He’s actually a good hardworking guy and knows a lot for his age. He tries hard to be professional and I can tell he’s a little awkward with me because of my age. All around a pretty good dude, but he’s not one to let you call out without giving you grief. Following guidelines here in CA and trying to go by the book, I had to miss the last 3 days of this week. I had a phone appointment with my doctor and he has me at home until Monday morning, per state regulations. Once I return Monday I have to mask up for next week. Needless to say, my text interactions with my boss are short and he seems very concerned about my absence, but not once has he asked how I’m actually doing. Very direct and to the point and he doesn’t respond to my updates unless he wants another. Kind of a shitty feeling when I’m just trying to follow the rules and state guidelines.
