Owner threatened to take legal action against us because we spoke about our boss and the conditions of her being fired outside work?

I work at a small,family owned restaurant. It recently changed owners about a year and a half ago,and since that,it has been hell. An aunt,mother,and daughter bought it. The daughter was the manager. She is the worst boss any of us have ever known. She regularly screamed,cried,and cussed in front of customers. She berated employees. She had intense mania,and could go from loving you one day to screaming and having you cry the next. She ran that restaurant into the GROUND. We had horrible reviews on food,lost our entire kitchen staff 4-5x,and in addition,we frequently were told that we may not get paid the next day because we were so broke. Towards the end,she’d never come to work,and claim that she was doing bookkeeping. Which she never was,because after she left,we found that she hadn’t paid taxes or done books in a year. Towards the end,she’d never come to work,and claim that she was doing bookkeeping. Which she never was,because after she left,we found that she hadn’t paid taxes or done books in a year. In addition,she also tried to make us sign an NDA that claimed we couldn’t talk about anything we saw,heard,or spoke about at our job for 30 years. Only myself and another coworker found it suspicious and refused to sign.

A few months ago,we find out she was fired for embezzling 60k from the business. Also found out that singled out me,who has worked there for several years,and was paying me two dollars less than the new employees she was having me train( that only stayed for a few weeks,because of her behavior!) Needless to say,we are all ecstatic gone.

It all goes well,until we start noticing that she is routinely hanging out in our parking lot,or watching from afar on weekends. It’s creepy as hell,and my own father caught her lurking during her lunch break. She routinely made “jokes” about wanting to burn the place down for insurance. She has guns and we were told by her aunt that if she is on the property,we can call police. Lately,she’s hacked into our business pages and removed our new manager and put herself as the boss. It’s weird,little things like that.

Today,one of my coworkers gets a phone call from her mother who owns 20% of the business. We were told she was being bought out,but for some reason she’s still on last Friday. Anyway,ahe is angry that people outside of our work know that her daughter was fired,says her daughter can never find work in this town again,etc. Blames us-especially me-for this. She says we signed an NDA(which they didn’t keep copies of!) Now,I’ll admit that all of the employees disliked her so bad that we told our families about her actions, and told former coworkers as well. I was kind of worried at first,but I don’t think they can fire us or take action against us for telling family or former coworkers about our former boss and how she was fired. Has anyone else ever experienced this? I’m really pissed to be honest.
