Pest Control tech at a small company for 4 years now. I absolutely love the job, I love being outside, I love the money, benefits, freedom, etc. HOWEVER, my manager and owner are profession gaslighters. If you ask them to do something, they will say they will do it, then simply not do it. They know you will not ask again. There is no HR. Just a father, son, and manager, that all hide stuff from each other. This has been going on for years. We have no product stocked, our vehicles are falling apart, and our routes are ridiculously far away. All of these issues have been brought up by 7 or 8 different techs over the 4 years I have been here, and none of them have been fixed. No other company in this field will pay this well, but I cannot stay here. Will probably leave the…
I'm in WA State and my employer is taking 10% more off of my paycheck than they should be and putting it under the federal categories for tax rates. I double-checked with the IRS website when making calculations. When I asked the company for a tax breakdown and to be put in contact with either the finance office or someone who handles payroll, they sent me to an administrative assistant who claimed she could help me with all my questions, wouldn't send me to anybody else, and just gave me my W-4 and said to go to the IRS. At this point, I'm unsure how to proceed. Do I need to go to the department of labor and industries for my state to file a complaint, or is this more an IRS issue?
So I’ll Probably Get Fired Soon.
And honestly…whatever. If I wasn't down a car I probably would have walked out by now. I'm tired of their impossible standards that no one actually hits. (Not even the boss's wonder-worker, despite what he says.) I've only been staying this long because it is really close to home and the pay isn't horribly bad. I've started taking night classes to finish up my highschool and the teacher is really pushing for me to go to college, even talking about scholarships (I don't know about that). I definitely don't need the stress from work distracting me from classwork. So I know this is a longshot, but would anyone know of any remote jobs for entry level workers? Been told I'm decently fast on typing (not trained fast though), pretty good eye for details. Just looking for something to tide me over till class ends next spring.
Is it rude
Just out of curiosity, if you’re in the office working for an international company, and you’ve never met the CEO, is it rude if he happens to walk by and he doesn’t introduce himself to your team? The only reason I know this happened is because someone else pointed out that he was there after he left.
This is in Canada. This has been an ongoing issues for few months. My manager will set out a target for me at the start of the month, and by the end of the month I'm either right at the target or have exceeded it by a significant amount and payouts are uncapped so if you attain like 114% of your target then that is what you will be payed out. We get paid commissions in the following month and right before the day we get our stubs, they always send out an email detailing how we did and what our payout will be and I'm finding I'm always either falling short or just barely meeting the cut off point of the payout because they ended up raising the targets but don't tell us until the last minute. FOR THE PREVIOUS MONTH! So for august, I was sitting at around…
Hello, I currently work a supervisor overseeing a small group of case managers for an ORR program. I am about a year into this role but as of lately, the workload is so difficult that I have started interviewing for other positions. To begin, the turnover rate is wild for case managers as case managers are expected to operate between 8 am to 10 pm 7 days a week. At this time we only have 3 case managers including myself. We are also salaried so we do not get paid for anything past 40 hours. Case Managers are expected to work holidays as well without additional compensation. Meanwhile, my program director always takes PTO on holidays and as of lately, has been pestering us about case files. These physical files are supposed to be managed by another position known as a case aide but we haven't had the position filled…
Unappreciative boss
I work in a small office. I actually don’t hate my job but my boss is so hot and cold all the time I’m constantly walking on egg shells around her. Today, half of our already small office was out and we were so busy so I took the initiative to jump in wherever I was needed, like I always do. I’m just the receptionist and this is my first time working in this field but I’ve been working for a bit over a year and I’ve learned so much. I am confident enough to be a “yes man” because I know I can actually do the work. My favorite coworker who is an awesome employee even tells me all the time that I do too much but I don’t care because I just want to make the job run smoother for everyone. My boss has praised me in the…
i’m sure several posts like this have been made before by people in my situation, but i truly feel so frustrated and need to get it off my chest. i’m 17, soon to be 18, i’m currently working my third job (i began working at 15). i’ve left both previous jobs because i felt i wasn’t being treated fairly, and hoped i would find something better, but im beginning to think there isn’t a such thing as a workplace that actually gives a shit about their workers as people. instead of warm bodies to keep their business running and drive profits up. i’ve had to deal with ableism from management at previous jobs (im autistic), sexual harassment from customers which management has done nothing about, management fighting with me about my own health, etc. while the place im at now is a lot better in most of these aspects, they…
